TWIST just hung out with the girls from Little Mix! We got the inside scoop on coming to America, their single "Wings" and what it's like to be in a girl band! Check out our exclusive convo below!

TWIST: Can you describe your sound?
Jade: The Little Mix sound is fun, inspiring, old school harmonies and melodies, with new beats.
TWIST: You are sometimes compared to the Spice Girls -- are you inspired by them? Are you inspired by any other artists?
Jesy: Whenever we hear that comparison, it's just incredible. The Spice Girls were the biggest girl band ever! We also look up to girl bands like Destiny's Child and SWV, mainly because of the harmonies.
TWIST: What are your plans for making it in the US?
Jade: We want to show everybody what we're about and bring out our first single over here. "Wings" is the perfect introduction to Little Mix and what we're all about, so we can't wait to show it to everybody in America!
TWIST: Can you tell us more about "Wings?"
Jesy: We wanted our first single to be a song that meant something to us, but also meant a lot to our fans. We wanted an uplifting message about believing in yourself, listening to what your mom says (because she's always right!) and just not letting any negativity bring you down.
TWIST: Which songs from your album mean the most to you?
Leigh-Anne: "Always Be Together!" It just talks about friendship, and the good thing about it is that you can take it in any sort of way.
Jade: "Wings" is just really uplifting for me whenever I feel down. There's also a song on the album called "Pretend It's OK." It's quite meaningful because everybody goes through a stage in their life where they just pretend everything's fine.
Jesy: Mine is definitely "Wings." But I love "Stereo Soldier" as well. That always makes me feel happy when I'm feeling down.
TWIST: What's it like being in a girl band?
Jesy: Being in a girl group is the best thing in the world. Whenever you're down, [your friends] are there to pick you up. We're always just having jokes and laughing and having fun. This is our job and we love to do it, and we're doing it with our three best friends. You can't really ask for anything better than that, to be honest!
TWIST: Have there been any tough moments since you started?
Jesy: There's been quite a few times where one of us has been down -- whether it be boys, or family, or anything. The good thing about us is that we are literally always there for each other. It's just amazing to be doing this and be friends with people that really care about you. You're never alone.
TWIST: You've been seen as the female version of One Direction.
Jade: That's a massive compliment because of how well they've been doing this past year. We'd love to follow in their footsteps and be as successful as they are!
