During a brand new video shoot, Zayn Malik got into a scooter crash on set! Zayn was pretty shaken up by the accident and is upset that he lost control of the scooter. "I smashed up a Vespa. It just spun out and went crazy. [It] ran on about two meters and hit some gravel and it was a limited edition. [It's] worth thousands. They had to put red nail polish on it to cover the scratches," Zayn reveals. Aww, poor Zayn! Two other members of One Direction, Liam Payne and Niall Horan also got into an accident this weekend in New York City, but with a large group of fans! "Liam got pushed over and Niall was struck in the face. They had their hair pulled and Liam's shirt got ripped. They couldn't see where they were going and it was really, really dangerous," a source spills. Thankfully, all of the boys are okay!

TWIST Exclusive: We Chat With Meagan Tandy!

Twist-chats-with-Meagan-Tandy.jpg

TWIST just finished chatting with Meagan Tandy, who plays Lulu Pope on ABC Family's Jane by Design! Meagan was super excited to dish with us about what will happen with Nick and Lulu on the new season of the show, how she overcame school drama, and what cute celeb she would love to star with in a romantic movie! Check out our exclusive interview below and make sure to catch Meagan Tandy in the season premiere of Jane by Design, June 5th at 9 P.M. on ABC Family!

XOXO,
TWIST

TWIST: The Season One finale of Jane by Design was crazy! Any details on where the show is going to pick up this June?

Meagan Tandy: Well I know for a fact that things are going to start to shake up a little bit between Nick and Lulu because they basically just cheated on their significant others. It changes the status in the high school world and forces them to deal with certain situations. As far as Billy and Jane, they're also going to get a shake up too because there are some new characters that are going to be coming into play that are going to test their friendship!

T: What is it like play a mean character on the show?

MT: It's actually really fun because it's my complete opposite! That's one of the things that I love about acting. It's allowed me to just explore different worlds that are not my own. It's fun to just play pretend for a little bit. I would probably say that the most difficult thing about it would just be the reaction from some of the other teenagers. People that have watched the show, sometimes they'll say, 'We hate Lulu! She's so mean! Why is she so mean?' and that was probably the most difficult thing because I was like 'Wait a minute. I'm really nice in real life!' I had to remind myself that that was acting. It's not really that difficult to tap into the character because it's just pretend.

T: Have you ever had to deal with any bullies at school?

MT: I can remember one time when I was in middle school and this group of girls did not like me for any particular reason other than the fact that I was just being myself. The main girl was a big eighth grader and she wanted to beat me up! It was really scary! I remember having to tell my parents. My parents had to get involved. Her parents got involved. It was really crazy! But honestly, I thank God I went to the parents. Had it not been for that, I probably would have gotten beat up.

T: What advice would you give to our readers on how to deal with bullies?

MT: Just talk to your parents! You have to go to an adult because sometimes handling a situation like that where you are being bullied, or [where] people are talking about you or picking on you, it's really difficult to handle on your own. If you can just tell an adult, tell a teacher, or tell a mentor, just anybody to get some help. That will definitely help you out.

T: Have you ever had stressful experiences with school and relationships?

MT: There was this one particular gentleman that I wanted to be with. I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I want him to be my boyfriend. He's amazing!' but he also likes another girl! He didn't fully commit to me first because he was still attached to her. I felt like we were in a contest. We were competing for his love. I ended up winning the guy and he ended up being with me [but] it didn't work out. It was frustrating because his particular girl would just do things I would never do! She would send him certain text messages and pictures. She was really trying to win him over. It was nuts. I should have just said, 'You know what dude? Forget you!'

T: What advice would you give to girls who dealing with relationship drama?

MT: If they could somehow not let the guy make them feel that they are not good enough to the point that they have to change themselves! The guys in high school are so consistent. They make the girls work for them, work for their love, and work for their attention. It should totally be the other way around! If it's not, just do what I did. I did not change who I was when I was "competing" for this guy. That girl was sending pictures and messages and I did none of those things. Be yourself and don't change for that other individual.

T: How did you deal with stress from all your schoolwork and being on the cheerleading team?

MT: I was the co-captain and then my senior year I became the pep commissioner. That has its own schedule which is ridiculous! It definitely was difficult, but being on the team forces you to focus on your academics because if you don't maintain a certain G.P.A., you are kicked off the squad. I always had to make sure that I prioritized my time. I had to sit down and make a schedule and say 'This is when I'm going to be working on cheerleading stuff and this is when I'm going to be working on my homework.' If you figure out a way to categorize it and what's more important, what can wait, what needs to be done right now, you'll eventually end up getting it all done!

T: What do you do for fun with your co-stars from the show?

MT: The few times that we have, we will just get together at someone's house. We all got together and watched the premiere when it first aired and we all got together and watched the season finale and we all ended up going out afterwards. No Disneyland trips, which is what I really wanted to do! I just went a few weeks ago but it would have been so awesome to go with the cast!

T: What did you do for fun at Disneyland?

MT
: Oh goodness! I just loved getting on all the rides! My favorite ride is the Indiana Jones [ride]! I liked eating at this amazing Mexican restaurant. It was so good! I was fun because now being on the show has definitely given me exposure. There's definitely a lot of teenagers that are like 'Hey Lulu! Aren't you Lulu from Jane by Design?' That was probably one of the highlights of Disneyland. It was just walking around and people wanted to meet me! It was actually cool!

T: Awesome! If you could work with any actor or actress right now, who would you choose and why?

MT: It's a little cliché! Ryan Gosling because I think he's amazingly good looking and of course he's very talented. I would have no problem meeting him and maybe having a kissing scene in a movie! I think he's amazing. I would love to meet him one day!

T: Any embarrassing moments?

MT: Literally, there's pretty much not really a day that I go on set that I'm not laughing about something because someone made a joke. I remember they would tease me because I'm wearing miniskirts [in] every single episode! I think one time I was sitting down [and] these [miniskirts] are barely covering my butt. I think it got caught in my underwear and when I stood up, everyone in trailer saw my butt and I didn't even know it for a whole second! I didn't even feel a breeze or anything. I think it was the hairstylist, she was like, 'Your butt is hanging out,' so I had to adjust. This is why I don't wear miniskirts!

T: Haha! Thanks for speaking with TWIST, Meagan!

MT: Thank you, TWIST!

Nick-Robinson-melissa-and-joey.jpg

TWIST recently chatted with Nick Robinson, star of ABC Family's Melissa & Joey! Nick told us about his relationship with co-star Taylor Spreitler, his favorite on-set moments, and even spilled some deets about the new season! Check out our conversation below and be sure to tune in to ABC Family on Wednesdays at 8/7c to catch Melissa & Joey!

XOXO,
TWIST

TWIST: We're so excited for the new season of Melissa & Joey! Can you give us any spoilers from the first few episodes?
NR: The new season picks up right where the old one left off. In our season finale, we had a tub falling through the ceiling, so the new season starts and Melissa and Joey are trying to make renovations on the house, but they can't always see eye to eye. Also, Lennox and Ryder both have some new love interests. That has been really fun!

TWIST: What has been your favorite moment of filming during the show so far?
NR: That's tough! Actually, the tub falling through the ceiling is one of them. They had this whole big rig above the set and they said, "Action," and the tub just fell through! Another favorite moment was when I had my 16th birthday on set. The cast and crew threw me a surprise party and had the Laker girls come and there was also a cake. After that, we went to Six Flags! It was really fun and I wasn't expecting it.

TWIST: How many times did they have to do the tub scene over and over again?
NR: They actually only did it twice, once before the audience came to make sure they had it and then once live to get the reaction. They had a curtain pulled around it so it was still a shock to the audience. It was still a shock for me even though it was the second time I had seen it!

TWIST: What is your relationship like with Taylor, your co-star on the show?
NR: We've definitely developed a brother-sister type of relationship. After spending so much time together, the whole cast has really developed a great dynamic.

TWIST: Why should TWIST readers watch the new season of Melissa & Joey?
NR: I really think the show has come a long way and the characters have really started to be developed more by the writers. The overall dynamic of the show is much more comfortable and relaxed as we all get to know one another better.

TWIST: Do you have any embarrassing moments you'd like to share with us?
NR: Right as school started, there was this girl I liked and we decided to go drive up to one of the Hollywood lookouts. So we drove up and parked on the side and went in. When we came out, my car wouldn't start because I had run out of gas! It was embarrassing to say the least. I had to call my dad and he had to come pick us up! Thankfully, everything turned out fine and she thought it was funny.

TWIST: Do you have any interesting or quirky habits that nobody else knows about?
NR: I think people might already know this, but I can play the ukulele. I think that's really fun and it's pretty easy because it's only four strings.

TWIST: Very cool! Thanks so much for chatting with us!
NR: Thank you!

TWIST recently chatted with Adam Irigoyen, who stars as Deuce on Disney Channel's Shake it Up! Adam was super fun to talk to and told us about his music, on-set pranks, and his dream guest star! He also spilled exclusive deets about some upcoming episodes! Check out the interview below and be sure to tune into Disney Channel on Sundays to catch all new episodes of Shake it Up!

XOXO,
TWIST

TWIST: What can we expect to see on some upcoming episodes of Shake It Up?
AI: Well, obviously, you can expect to see a lot of dancing. You can also expect a lot of comedy. You guys have seen a couple of episodes of season two, and those episodes are awesome. But, I feel that the really, really funny episodes are towards the end of the season. Also, relationships grow and all that good stuff that happens in a sitcom.

TWIST: Can you share any fun memories that recently happened on set?
AI: That's a really hard question because we are always having fun. We're always joking around and having a good time, especially Roshon [Fagan] and I. Whenever Davis [Cleveland] gets on set, you know you're about to have a party. Every moment on set is always so fun and so enjoyable that I don't know if I can really pin one down.

TWIST: Cool. Have you guys ever played any pranks on each other?
AI: One time, Caroline [Sunshine] was coming out of wardrobe, and Davis hid behind a wall. This wasn't really a prank. He was just trying to scare her, but it turned into the funniest thing of my life! He was hiding behind a wall, waiting for her to come upstairs into the schoolroom. He popped out of nowhere and screamed, 'Boo!' She screamed at the top of her lungs. It was the funniest thing! I'd never laughed so hard. She looked so scared and her face was as if she just saw a ghost. It was amazing!

TWIST: There have been some really cool guest stars on Shake It Up so far. If you could have anyone make a guest appearance on the show, who would you want it to be?
AI: There are so many cool people, but I think Will Smith because he is my favorite actor ever. He would be awesome on whatever show he does because, well, he's Will Smith!

TWIST: Who would you want him to play? What kind of character could he be on the show?
AI: I think something similar to what he's done so far in comedy, like what he did on Fresh Prince. He could definitely play a family member of Zendaya [Coleman] or Roshon or something. As long as I have one scene with him, I'm fine.

TWIST: Do you have any upcoming projects?
AI: Right now, I'm working on my music. I don't know when it's going to come out yet, but it'll come out soon. As far as acting goes, it's only Shake It Up, but I'm working hard on my music.

TWIST: What do you plan on doing with your music? Are you releasing an album?
AI: Right now, I'm just focused on getting a good single out! It's not about albums right now. It's a total singles world out there and I want a strong single. I don't have a genre because it's a completely different type of music. It's completely fun and party and awesome! I love my music. I want that music that just speaks for itself, where you hear it and you want to hear more! I'm getting that prepared. I'm always in the studio and stuff.

TWIST: We can't wait to hear it! Thanks for chatting with us Adam!
AI: Thanks TWIST!

TWIST recently chatted with British actor and musician Alexander Newton, star of the film Justice/Vengeance! Alexander, who has been called the "next Robert Pattinson," told us about his new film, his favorite musical artists and even spilled some exclusive deets about his upcoming album! Check out our conversation below!

XOXO,
TWIST

TWIST: Can you tell us about your new movie Justice/Vengeance?
AN: Justice/Vengeance is quite an important film because it speaks out against things like racism. My story in the film is kind of like a romance. It's a little bit like Romeo and Juliet because my love interest and I are different religions in the film. Her family doesn't want her to be with me and my family doesn't want me to be with her, but our love is strong, so that doesn't matter to us.

TWIST: Can you tell us a little bit more about your character Joseph?
AN: Joseph is a rebellious guy! He cares about so many things. He cares about his girlfriend and his family. He doesn't see the Nazis as people that are going to take over his country and ruin his entire way of life. He's going to stand up for that!

TWIST: You're also producing your own album right now. How would you describe your music and your sound?
AN: My music is really diverse! I'm writing all types of different songs at the moment. But all of my music is really fun and easy to listen to!

TWIST: Cool! Who are some of your favorite musicians in the business today?
AN: I like a lot of people. I like Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and The Black Eyed Peas. There are so many great artists out there. I also like Colbie Caillat. I think she's great!

TWIST: What can we expect to see from you in the future?
AN: I'm working on a movie right now that is going to come out next year. We're actually just getting started on it. It's a comedy, so it's going to be really fun! On the music front, I'm working with a lot of other artists and writing songs for them. I'm setting up my studio and just working with some really talented people and it's just really fun!

We recently sat down with up and coming artist Liana Conway, who is releasing her debut album Sunrise on August 8th! She dished to TWIST about what inspired her to become a musician, how she convinced her mom to let her play the guitar, and her secret good luck charm that she carries everywhere she goes! Check out Liana's exclusive shout-out and a performance of her never-heard before single below! Make sure to check out Sunrise this August!

XOXO,
TWIST

TWIST: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your new album?
Liana Conway: It's my first album ever and it's called Sunrise. [I'm] super excited about it! I have been writing songs since I was sixteen. I taught myself how to play the guitar. I went to Boston College for two years and I ended up moving to Nashville for an internship the summer after my sophomore year. At about the same time, I had producers through a mutual friend. Initially, we weren't intending to record an album or anything. I was just talking to them, hoping they could get me an internship or something in Nashville and it ended up [that] they heard some of my stuff. It all worked out and we started writing and collaborating on an album and now we have a full-length album that we are really excited to get out there!

T: How did you become interested in music?
LC: I taught myself how to play the guitar. I was randomly driving by a Guitar Center when I was sixteen. My friend had actually just picked up a guitar and she didn't really stick with it, but she thought that it was super cool that she could play songs that she liked and replicate them and she could do her own version of them. So I went over to her house one night and I wondered what she was doing and I thought it was really neat. I was driving by a Guitar Center and on a whim decided to go in there and came out with a guitar. I taught myself how to play. It was so maddening at first! I stuck with it and just within the first month, I had written my first song, although granted the guitar playing didn't sound too good.

T: You convinced your mom to buy you the guitar?
LC: I was in Guitar Center and I was on the phone with her. My mom and I tend to have heated discussions. They actually sent me into the sound-proof room to talk to her at Guitar Center because we got so heated! I found this one guitar and it was like the angels descended from heaven when I saw it. It was that kind of moment. It was love at first sight! I loved it and it was a little bit on the pricey side so it took a lot of convincing and still to this day, I don't know how she allowed me to get it!

T: Was she supportive of you deciding to pursue a music career?
LC: Absolutely! My parents have been so supportive since it was like a hobby that I had writing and playing. Even before anything, before I met producers or anything, they were really supportive of me just playing and writing because it was such an outlet for me. It was just a way for me to condense my emotions into a song and be able to just get it out. They saw that [it] helped calm me down. Instead of starting to get into a fight with them, I started to just go to my room and channel my energy into writing. It was great.

T: What is your song-writing process like?
LC: I started these notebooks when [I was] eight or nine years old. Before then, I had written in little journals and stuff what I did that day, all the fights I was getting in, and all that middle school drama. I still have them to that day. It started being my thoughts and my feelings. Sometimes, something will happen to me and I just don't want to forget it. I will write out every single detail as if it were a movie script and I'm writing down a scene and I'll write down every single detail. A lot of times when I write down or I sit down to write a song, I always have my notebooks right around me because it's always such a big inspiration. I usually get inspired in the middle of the night or really late at night. I always sit in my closet when I write. It's not like a tiny little closet! It has a light. It's kind of like a little mini-walk in closet. For some reason I just feel safe in there.

T: If you could collaborate with any artist, who would you pick and why?
LC: I really like Hot Chelle Rae. I really like their music. I think they're like pop rock and I really love their songs. I think they are really fun and upbeat. I would love to collaborate with them. Also, Michelle Branch. She's always been one of my favorite writers and musicians.

T: Do you have any upcoming tours?
LC: I'm paired up with an organization called 12 to 20 and I'm going to visit different high schools all around the nation. That'll be about three to four weeks. We're pretty much going to hit up everywhere.

T: Is there anything weird you take with you when you travel?
LC: I always take my baby blanket. It's this yellow blanket that I've always had since I can remember.

T: Do you have it now?
LC: Yeah, it's in my hotel room! Haha! My sister has a teddy doggie. It's this little teddy bear that looks like a dog. She's older than me! She's 23. It's still in her bed. She's going to kill me if this goes anywhere. Hah! She's very discreet about it. She's not going around telling everyone that's she's got teddy doggie. I love my blanket. It makes me feel safe. I take it on the airplane. I cuddle it. I'm going to be doing that when I'm 30!

T: Do you have any other embarrassing quirks that you would like to share with our readers?
LC: I had this stage [where] I skateboarded everywhere. I had this black baseball hat and I remember I always wore it backwards and I wore my hair in low pigtails. I would literally skateboard around our neighborhood [and] the amount of times that I fell off that thing in front of people... I went through this phase and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Skateboarding is fun but I didn't know how to do it! So I would just make a fool out of myself.

T: Haha! Thanks for speaking with TWIST today Liana!
LC: Thank you, TWIST!

TWIST recently chatted with English musician Cher Lloyd, one of the stars from the seventh season of The X-Factor! Cher talked to us about her experience on the show, her favorite musical artists and some exclusive deets about her newest single. Check out the interview and our exclusive video below!

XOXO,
TWIST

Twist: So first, how would you describe your music and your sound?
CL: My music is completely different. I'd say it's like as if someone put a jukebox on because every song that I record and I write, I make sure it's different. Sometimes, particular artist will do songs that sound the same and I don't want to be like that.

Twist: Cool. So can you tell me about your single "I want you back," and the music video you shot? I watched it this morning and it looked like it was so much fun!
CL: Yea, you know, I've been out in the UK for about a year now, and I've been doing a few things but I feel like I've come to the US and I'm allowed to do what I want to do. And like the video is basically me being able to dress the way I wanted to dress, you know, and it's just fresh and new and it's just a new start for me.

Twist: And for readers who maybe haven't listened to the song so much can you tell them what it's about?
CL: It's about a relationship that's broke up and it's basically the girl feeling really jealous that the guy's gone off with someone else and she just wants him back.

Twist: Cool. So obviously you see some familiar faces on the cover of our magazine, so for our readers who are absolutely in love with One Direction, can you tell us what the guys were like on the set of The X-Factor?
CL: The X-Factor was a great experience for me and I'm sure it was for them as well. They're really nice guys.

Twist: Awesome. And on The X-Factor you got to perform with Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas. That's so cool. So what other musicians are you just dying to work with?
CL: I'm dying to work with Nicki Minaj and Lil' Wayne. I think those two are the ones that I'm completely [gasp] about. Nicki's the best female rapper I've ever come across and she's different. She's not scared to express herself and that's why I really admire her.

Twist: That sounds so awesome! So you've spoken up in the past about being a victim of cyber-bullying. How have you dealt with that and do you have any advice for our readers?
CL: Yea, definitely. You know, if you are in the position where you are being cyber-bullied, I think the main bit of advice I'd give anyone is to speak out about it whether it be your parents or your friends. And then get more advice. I mean, there's lots of websites you can go on to seek advice. So I think just use your tools that are available. Don't react to it, though.

Twist: Do you have any embarrassing moments you'd like to share with us?
CL: Of course! Okay, right, so I arrive at the airport, I'm flying to the States and I have this pair of jeans on that I really really like, and I'm going through security and my boyfriend has already gone through. He's seeing if I'm okay and I'm following behind him and the beeper went off at the security because I had a hair band in. I turned around and my boyfriend saw that I had a huge hole in the back of my trousers. Like this (gesture) big! You could see my butt!
Twist: Oh no. What'd you do?
CL: I stretched my top. I pulled it and stretched it to try and cover it. It was possibly the worst experience ever.

Twist: Oh no. That's rough! And the last question I have is do you have any upcoming projects our TWIST readers should know about?
CL: Yea, I mean, I'm going to be over here for a while and basically my project is to get a new army of brats. I call my fans brats ... not in a nasty way. Its just my fans tend to have a lot more attitude. (laughs) But yea, just to collect my army then take on the world!

Twist: We can't wait! Thanks so much for chatting with us!
CL: Thank you!
