TWIST just talked to Billy Unger from Lab Rats! Billy dished to us about the hour-long special of Lab Rats, his favorite mission, and what's next for him. Check out our exclusive convo below!
XOXO,
TWIST
TWIST: Why should TWIST readers tune into the new season of Lab Rats?
Billy Unger: Season two is basically an amped up version of season one. We wanted to make the stakes higher, and that's what we've done. We're just having a blast. We've got an hour-long episode that will air in season two where pretty much everything is revealed. It's sort of a mythology episode, and I can't give too much away, but there are probably about four fight scenes in just that one episode. We've also got really, really funny jokes, and Bree is super relatable for teenage girls as well.
TWIST: What has been the most fun episode to film so far?
BU: Without a doubt it would have to be the hour-long episode because the episode was large enough for every character to fit into the storyline. Sometimes, because it's a half hour show, we'll have Principal Perry in an episode instead of Hal's character, Donald Davenport, and then sometimes we'll have Angel's character, Tasha. However, in the hour-long, everyone got a piece of the pie. Everyone got to take part in the action. It was just so much fun. Everyone was full of energy and we were all really sad when it ended. We were ready to make the hour-long like a three-hour long episode!
TWIST: What has been your favorite mission so far from Lab Rats?
BU: We had some really cool missions in season one. However, in season two there's an episode where Chase goes on a solo mission. He runs into a bit of trouble and into a few bad guys. There's a slight possibility of Chase going to the dark side. I can't give away more than that -- people will just have to watch and see what happens. It's a huge episode, and I'm very, very proud of the way that it turned out. Super excited for that one to air!
TWIST: Do you have any upcoming projects that you're working on?
BU: Currently I'm in a band with Hal Sparks, and the two of us are planning to do some shows soon. We're writing original music and we're doing a bunch of really fun covers. I'm really into rock music and I've been playing guitar for a few years, but obviously that's second to Lab Rats. Honestly it sounds really cliché, but every single morning we're so excited to come to work. The writers and the producers just make the set so warm and comforting and welcoming. That's really nice and that's yet to change and I doubt it ever will because we're all just like a family. We're really close.
