Last night was the fashion industry's version of the Oscars: The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala in N.Y.C. Everyone from Miley and Taylor to J. Law walked the red carpet in some seriously jaw-dropping looks. But who do you crown the queen of the ball? We'll be bringing you Style Showdowns throughout the day to help you decide.
Beyoncé and Katy Perry were two of the stars we were most excited to see on the red carpet, and the two divas did not disappoint. Bey brought the heat (literally) in a Givenchy dress featuring a croc-leather bodice and a fire-printed flowing train. She finished off the hot look with elbow-length gloves and matching thigh-high boots.
And Katy, who we thought was going more demure with her style lately, didn't disappoint in the over-the-top fashion department. She went ultra-regal in a Dolce & Gabbana dress, plus a crown and crucifix earrings. She completed the look with a statement-making wine-stained lip.
